Re-reading your original msg I think you were asking how well it worked for others, not how to shoot with it.
A 5D is the logical upgrade from the 20D. A 1D series camera has a completely different interface.
You should also consider whether you even need to upgrade.
The 20Da has a softer (or no?) IR filter, right? How does that go with normal daylight photos?
