before my labrador retriever died, my cat used to sleep (can't remember the exact english word) "side by side", just like those puppies are. In the cold nights the dog would let the cat sleep there...I really don't know how to paint this picture better....
Labradors/Golden retrievers have the most wonderfull character...You have nothing to be afraid off, IMHO
