Well its not just Florida. The entire world is getting hit with unusally intense weather.

Scientists have discovered the CO2 in the atmosphere is the highest its been for as far back as they can calculate which is 650,000 years. So with more CO2 you get higher atmospheric temperatures. More heat creates more energy which creates more intense storm events.

So its not looking good going forward as more and more people inhabit this planet and industrialization expands the CO2 to even greater levels than it is now.
