Make your request. Observe the same level of professionalism you expect, and go -- that's it. If you are trying to "escalate" to some theoretical crisis point, beyond what you feel is within your personal power -- for example, on the phone, simply be aware that there are people here who will only allow so much. Period. My service to you is in acquainting you with that fact, before others do -- less polite than me --
