the usual high's in the auctions are nowhere near that high - it's great to get domain steal's via end user's and straight from the registry and also the occasional godaddy or other no-auction backorders- but there are still some ridiculous deals when there turns out to be an auction. if it runs too high, just step back and move on to the next one. the best approach for us is a hybrid and not a reflexive banning on auctions.
