well here in canada you have a pretrial centre that you go to until you go to court (if you don't make bail)
and then if your sentence is 2 years and under you go to a jail thats only for 2 and under sentences.. but if its above 2 years then you go to the big big jail.... the hardcore one in winnepeg
pretrial centre - very lax, no lockdown at any times etc
2 year jail - still very lax, you can have an xbox in your cell etc
the 2 and up+ EXTREMELY lax... you can get all types of shit for your cell
and the rapes are free
that being said, i've never been charged ..... I wouldn't want to catch a stupid charge, because if you get ANY charge, you can't enter the states
P.S. i think with his original post he meant, have you ever been arrested, and have you ever gotten charged and went to jail
