The auction method is one where money is the only real advantage. Anyone can throw enough money at a backorder service and walk away with the domain name.

care to give an example of an auction getting squirly with the end price and the specific domain?
i cannot think of one auction yet that was out of control. xloan.com was a bit looney and so was cayo.com (lots of traffic) but still not anything more than 1/3 of retail value from what i saw.
