Roger you've received tons of great advice. One thing I have not seen mentioned is to make sure you keep yourself properly hydrated. It was explained to me that dehydration can trigger an increased heart rate, which then triggers the panic attack. Since my first attack about ten years ago, I've made it a habit to drink water throughout the day and to always have bottled water with me in the car. It's a terribly simple thing, but it really does seem to have helped. I haven't had a full-fledged attack in ages.
In my experience, low blood sugar can also be a trigger.
