I'd like to say that I feel for Lars from a promoter's perspective- It happens more often than not unfortunately - people who don't deserve to be in VIP or in a party period ingratiate themselves into the fold.
I often would cringe when I'd see people get into areas backstage at the Players Ball as if they were entitled to be there- when in essence they have no idea that the area is roped off for performers, photogs and people going on stage, yet every year we have the same assholes jockeying for position and obstructing the view for webmasters who were invited to see the show.

That being said, I like Mikey Vega was put on a stand by list the evening before the party. It was explained to me that some of the sponsors had not turned in their lists yet, and many people who RSVP'ed left the show early so there would be like 10 passes for one of the sponsors.
I had no problem whatsoever in not going to the event, after all it's far more important to invite your big affiliates over people like me who have no traffic-however although people were joking that they saw me waiting for the buses and saying I was B List I laughed- I was very thankful to Lensman for his invite- I also want to thank all the sponsors who threw the event, it was one of the best parties I have attended from a networking perspective in a long time- and that was due to the fact that we were on the grounds of a corporate machine- The Playboy Mansion would never put up with any shenanigans from webmasters, and the invite list was free of assholes-
It was the first party I had attended in a long time where there was no overt drug usage taking place, or any malevolent behavior exhibited. This was purely due to the guest list being discreet, and the respect that people showed this institution.
Kudo's to Katie Smith, Bob Johnson, Lars and Sean, DH, and CC Bill
I also enjoyed our bus ride to Lucky Strike-
18 people screaming at the bus driver to go to the Sheraton and him almost having a nervous breakdown from Mike from Klixxx and Gary Kremen
That was a great laugh- as well as Brande Roderick flirting with my brother and I-
