Shelly, a vagina produces 10 times more smegma than a male penis. It's not a problem if washed. One wouldn't even know smegma exists if they wash (I sure didn't until I saw posts on GFY). Men haven't stopped having sex with women or having oral sex with women because of women's smegma.
Smegma is the first line of defense against infection. All mucous membranes (ass, mouth, penis, vagina) produce such defensive materials to protect the body.
