I can't believe I'm giving you tips on how to do this, but... I can't turn down a fellow guy in need!
This works whenever you need to separate a woman from a group and suss out your potential options. It's so simple you probably already thought of this. Do this slowly so you don't arouse suspicion;
Ask your girlfreind and any other young family members everything you can about dear old mom. Know her history. Then find out as much as you can about the subjects that she might care about and just start conversations about those subjects. While doing this make sure you compliment her profusely. Actually compliment her whenever you can but never lie. If her dress isn't pretty don't say it is but compliment her on whatever looks nice at the time. Older women can smell bullshit a mile away.
Do this and you should be able to see if anything is possible in a month or less if you are good.
