You can almost always temporarily stop a toothache with ice. Put some ice in a plastic bag, and press it to the area that hurts outside your mouth, on the skin of your jaw. Stops the pain pretty quick.

The best shit is this stuff called Anbesol PM. It's a paste that you press into the cavity. Seals the cavity temporarily, quickly deadens the pain, lasts about 6 hours, long enough to get some sleep. They sell it next to the anbesol and the other benzocaine shit.

It does really work.

Only the dentist fixes it - usually by the time it hurts you are fucked, and need a pulling or a root canal.
