OK - just to kinda correct myself as there are two processes that you can enrich Uranium with that do convert the U to a gas and then back to a liquid and then to a solid - we do it at two plants in the US - but its used to form enriched Uranium for nuke power plants - there is also a centrifugal process (remember all the talk about centrifuges that turned out to be Saddams aluminum rocket parts) - where they spin the vapor from basically boiling the Uranium - so that the heavier parts get separated from the lighter parts - and then filtered to make the enriched Uranium.
The process is called gas diffusion - when I was talking about the enrichment in a reactor that would be creating plutonium which is a more likely component of a weapon - but it is possible to make a weapon with the enriched (enriched way higher than we do for nuke plant fuel) uranium
