Very true, google is the one search engine that does not offer this information out to people. I thought there was a thread on this a few weeks ago.
As far as the difference between -link: domain.com- and -link:domain.com- it is obvious! just search out one of your lesser known domains to find the results. the space creats a search on the two words and not a direct hard link. however, just because your site is listed as a domain (domain.com) it does not mean you actually have a link to your site. it's a messed up world that we live in.
