There was something in the local paper tech pages going back a few weeks ago, this may be to do with the MPEG-4 codec.

It was not so long ago that MPEG LA wanted royalties paid on all MPEG-4 content, but, thanks in no small part to Apple which strenuously argued against that postition, we can now enjoy sharing our MPEG-4 with the rest of the free world.
