Dumb is attributing "something" to customers - not sure the majority even qualify as dumb.
BTW... Another priceless source of revenue is in client email and letters - especially "fan mail".
I got a friend who collected this crap over years and wrote a play based on the content. His play now has a full house and the audience are rolling with laughter at the the idiocy of the human race when it comes to "sexual adoration".
The irony is, the audience are the same people who wrote all that crap
