He's been crying on my shoulder about how every time he gets a good thing going that the other party takes of and leaves him hanging. I've felt kinda sorry for the guy because of it but if this situation is any indication of how he has handled his other business dealing then I can fully understand why things continue to end up poor for him.
And at this point, I can't justify helping him break that pattern.
