Yes, our constitution is what grants and protects our freedoms. But without a military who would protect that constitution? We would still be under British rule if we didn't fight for our independance. If it weren't for our strong military we wouldn't have our own constitution, we would be living under some other country's rule. We would be like France during WWII and we would all be speaking German right now.
