Wow, you must like adventure.

I can't imagine what Cancun and Cosumel went through with Wilma for 60 hours. In Florida it lasted just a few hours but sounded like a tornado and the winds were pushing an easy 100 to 120 MPH when the back side of the eyewall slammed through. The eye was 75 miles wide which is why all South Florida took a hit even though it was centered 60 miles from Miami.

Florida toughened up its building codes after Andrew in '92 and the newer structures got very little damage as a result.

Good luck on rebuilding.
