Hell, if I'm riding and a 1lb rabbit shoots out of the shrubs my horse freaks out and he's just over 17 hands. Rather large for a paint and if you know horses, a pretty big fella.
All that aside, I have been posting on this board for years and have had several employees hurt, one seriously injured. However, I have never come here asking GFYers to donate money to help them out. I carried insurance on them and they were covered. I was even sued by one of my ex-employees and settled out of court. My insurance covered that cost. I was responsible and did everything I could to protect my interests.

Rob, yes I read some of your replies. I don't own any horses now. In the past I did, and I never heard of a spook horse falling backwards unless they could go forward. Forget about insurance or providing it (you and I amoung others pay for it), when was the last time a horse fell backwards that you recall?
I never saw a horse fall backwards when spook, yet I saw a lot of riders fall off
