I can agree with you on the fact that society has gone to shit.. and i personally have lost friends to the exact same violence you are talking about, and just about lost another old friend of mine recently to the same type of violence (knife punctured his lung).. but i don't blame it on the certain nationalities, i think society as a whole has just gone to shit.
