Faster than light - if it's a recorded speed then something can be made to match it or beat it.
Once upon a time (during the development of the steam locomotive) the general concensus of opinion was that if a person exceeded 35mph they would suffocate - laughable now, but that's what people believed only a couple of hundred years ago - natch, in a couple of hundred years people will think we were stupid to believe that nothing could go faster than light.
Or something.
