I know the curent crop of domainers only factor in type-ins when buying domains, but some of you have completely forgotten that every day, a new crop of "startups, products, businesses, etc" launch and those companies will pay for brand-ability. I know, I know, type-ins are a MAJOR concern, but there's much more money out there in the aftermarket for brandability... it is a more treacherous path to take, very dangerous dealing with big companies that will try to find ways to "own" the domain without paying you for it, but when you find a way to tap into this space, it can be amazing.
I just sold a domain I bought for $15 (total) and got a 100,000% markup. not too shabby, but it has ZERO type-ins, not a single one, and to be honest I almost let it expire this summer.. but I said.. what the hell, why not?
