if i have change i almost always give it to them, if they are honest.
my favorite was a guy who said:
"hey man, i ain't gonna bullshit you. i gotta sleep down by the river tonight, and i need some money for a six pack to keep me warm."
i gave him a couple bucks. can't deny a man a drink who has fallen on hard times.
