When I was in school I had to sit through some poor post-grad's long winded dissertation and the moron did it on Legalizing Marijuana and how it would effect our Economy. Believe it or not, any influx of cash on any economy is detrimental. He explained that the immediate surplus of cash would actually cripple our economy rather than help it. It's not because they can't tax it; that's an urban legend. It's because that if they legalized it the massive influx of money would actually collapse our economy. Pretty phenominal, heh?

It sounds absurd but it actually made sense when he described it using charts and graphs and numbers, oh my.
