You should probably use ituns dude, that copy and paste thing doesn't work. The ipod will need to forumlate a playlist via itunes.
If you don't want to use itunes there are other alternatives to be found. Try looking at
www.ipodlounge.com -- that site has become pretty spammy but if you search around you can find the software section
