Because I dont live in the shithole section of detroit. I live three blocks from the border of what is considered the "Beverly Hills" of the midwest. Where sports stars and politicians live.
Why here than there? Because the same house I have now, 3 blocks away in Grosse Pointe Woods, will cost double. So I pay half, pay Detroit taxes, and have a Detroit address. If I move 3 blocks east I would have a GPW address and nobody would give me shit about Detroit then. But I find most people who bitch about Detroit... have never been to Detroit.
I dont want to make my neighborhood seem bad. Most of the Detroit cops choose to live in this area as well.
But on the other hand, 6 blocks east of me is some pretty hardcore ghetto. Thats the beauty of Detroit.
