It makes great for fuck buddies but not anyone that you want to make your partner and have a "real" relationship with.

My view is that if the people are really into each other, they'd be wanting more than anything to be together as best they can. You would figure out a way to get a new life together and set up shop in a new area... not saying that this is you in paticular... just how it is for anyone....
You can make money anywhere, you can live anywhere on the earth and make a life out of it... its who you share it with is what matters.
