It's right out of some comic book or grade b movie.
Everyone was looking for dude and he lived in a mansion???
Did he have 'Secret Hideout' emblazened on the front lawn in neon? How do you look for a guy living in a mansion and not find him? Oh, I know, they were looking for him in some abandoned warehouse that had a tilted floor and a group of uniformed henchmen with "Henman 1" and "Henchman 2" silk screened on their shirts.
Sheeesh.
Only reason he got busted was because he didn't fork over enough bribe money. If, and IF he does ANY time he'll get a cakewalk spot in some golf course prison. He's got too much money to bargain with. If they threw him in a regular prison with his money the cons would milk him dry.
You read about people like this and you wonder why someone never punched their lights out. It's really cruel and evidence of the incompetence of the industries and agencies you rely on.
I hope dude gets his money from this guy though, it would be a form of justice. What's more is the investigation sure to come into where Cohen stashed his loot and how and believe you me, if he ain't got enough to fork over the feds will squeeze every bit of information from him. His lawyers can't claim he's paying them either or it'd be funds collected from a felon. Really interesting court case coming up for sure!
