yeah, it's not a ton of money. but the issue is that i've put a lot of time and effort into training him to do something that isn't the "usual" kind of editing, so in one way he's very valuable to me - but the month-after-month drama over material being late because "i got flooded out" "i was in an accident" "i was in the hospital after being beaten up in a bar trying to get money from someone who owed me" "my (fill in the blank relative) died" "my HD died (for the third time this year)" "my ISP disconnected me for no reason and i have to do my work from an internet cafe/friend's house/etc for the next two weeks so you won't be able to reach me on ICQ" --- makes me feel like it was more than $400-500 dollars in aggrevation and lost work over the year...<sigh>
anyway, i told him that he's working for a US company, and we don't do 13th months, we do Xmas bonuses, and that's when he'll get his bonus. hopefully that'll take care of it.
