I know writing content/press is probably not a program's idea of "time well spent" but I'd love to see some PR pre-made - duplicate content or not. Us non-lazy affiliates would be able to take the basic theme and wrap it around our own text/copy.
An example would be Flirt4Free which offers porn stars each month for their VIP members. They don't offer this in their promo tools but some of us promoting them go to the site, get the details, date/time and a promo pic with the copy they write and push it out on our own sites.
Imlive/PussyCash has theme weekends all the time advertised on the site. Again, a lot of affiliates grab this copy and can change it while keeping the main message the same.
I guess it comes down to whether or not programs want to do the work or leave it to the "out of the box" affiliates? I'd think a happy medium would be nice - at the very least allow me to opt-in to notices about upcoming promotions with links, etc. - even a non-HTML, text-only simple message.
The really ambitious programs can make specific promo material (VSCash uses "live" banners that rotate when a new show is coming up, for e.g.) and push it out to affiliates in several forms, incl. putting in their affiliate area.
