It don't do any good for the law to have an agenda to win a fight over what appears to be an ignorant mouthy officer. Anyone with any sense, especially in law enforcement, does not "talk up" a row - they cool it.
If the law on the street level is that bad, it may be because of the quality of recruitment from paying peanuts? For anyone to start a career as a rookie cop, they gotta be (a) willing to work for nothing (b) genuinely interested in law enforcement or (c) have a stupid power-complex defect or (d) can't get employment elsewhere. I'd hope most were in (b).
Anyone seriously interested in the justice system, don't exactly spend their life in a uniform driving a cruiser - it's a very wide field that requires a range of talents in a variety of agencies. Real cops ain't interested in revenge for some verbal bullshit in a street where no crime was committed.
I can think of one woman officer who would give a wry grin at the thought of us hypothesizing on GFY and wondering if that's all we gotta fucking bother about.
She's been shot, stabbed, raped and had more MRI scans that I had breakfasts, but, despite that, she would listen hard and be quietly sympathetic to spacedog and hear where he's coming from - it's a people thing - she would be discussing "women stuff" with spacedog's wife within five minutes.
That may be the difference tween an asshole officer and a real one.
