Bound to get me in trouble here...

I do realize that this post will seem full of naivete and that I will be mocked and yelled at until I disappear. And you would be right to feel that way and react that way. Here's the thing: I respect this board as I do no other. And I listen well to the advice dispersed from this board. All of us do. So I will take my chances.

I am working with a team of 5 people in FL - all with various degress of experience in film production and business admin. We have been working towards launching a pay site for over a year now. A great deal of planning and research and all the rest of it has gone into that.

This is the part where you laugh. We are finding that content is very difficult to attain, even in the best of circumstances. We pay, we are law-abiding, all that. Here's the question...and this is when you stone me to death. Is it simply better and easier for people in our scenario to license content for sites and put those out instead of trying to compete in a field that is essentially run by millionaires and corporations? Are we fooling ourselves to think we can produce our own content and get rich in the process?

I would really like to know the opinions of the people on this board on this one. I am not trying to waste everyone's time or piss anyone off. And I am genuinely sorry if I did either.
