IMO this is what I see a lot (but not meaning this guy is, but who knows...)
Situation #1
Someone just went to Barnes and Nobles and bought a large coffee and picked up SEO for Dummies and read the first 3 chapters. Immedately, they become and "SEO Expert" and pay to join wmw and post about their extreme seo knowledge and how you should cram your site with meta tags and tons of links.
Situation #2
someone has a site reg'd for a few years, and decides to make some simple changes they saw on a forum. add some alt tags, title tags and what do you konw, they are now ranked for some BS. instantly, they quit their job working at burger king and drop their resume to all teh seo firms within a 30 mile radius
Situation #3 (my favorite)
you know a friend, or someone did some seo work for your site. you see what the chages are, and then think you can get people to pay you for those. post all over the net and pay $200 bucks for a shitty website saying you are an "SEO Expert" and "SEO Certified"
I see this crap all the time. i get phone calls and emails from "SEO Firms" wanting to seo my sites. here is the simple truth... I DONT HAVE TIME TO DO MY OWN SITES, FUCK OFF
Anyone can be an seo expert because there is no certification. the only half ass attempt at an seo test is from
www.expertrating.com Ive actually had clients ask "are you seo certified?" because shitheads claim they are.
My FREE SEO GUIDE (not really free)
1. read SEO for Dummies (good book actually)
2. Read Google Hacks
3. Start making chages to your own site and see if they work
SEO forums IMO are junk (most of them) because they are all people who just read one book, or glazed over another forum.
anyway, im going to drink now!
