Kyle did have the gold, he did have a backup fake bag, in an earlier episode he was right about kyle not being able to throw away his ninja weapons.
I really liked the Terri Schaivo/PSP one too. They can pump out an episode in 2 weeks time with current tech. It's amazing.
The hurricane Katrina feel of the episode was great.
