Well no, I just lived there for awhile and learned how to tip. Canadians tip around 10% or lower, it's really sad. I've been out with friends since I got back and I have to compensate for their sad tippage.

I don't get the whole 'tipping' thing ?
Surely a tip is up to the customer, and not something which is expected. Especially a certain amount.
Tipping isn't even an issue over here, the service sucks so often, they would probably be embarrassed to even recieve a tip...
