Do photographers sometimes set the wage benchmarks too high for adult models?

Over the years I've known of several BDSM/fetish models who regularly command/demand wages of $200-300/hr. (or $2k for a half-day photoshoot).

Given the amount of traffic and signups required to recuperate the model fees, does this set an unreasonable expectation for others in the industry?
