As of Sept 2005 there were 8.9 million millionaire households in the US. And there are 25 million housholds in the $500K range.

So with 2.5 people per household that means about 23 million Americans are living in a millionaire household and 63 million Americans live in a fairly wealthy household.

On the ultra wealthy, there are an estimated 15,000 households in the US earning over $5 Million per year.

There are only 400,000 households with a net worth over $10 Million. So only 1 out of every 312 households are really really rich.
