calling that a good movie is rediculous. where to start?...

how about the beginning... 2 murderers having nothing to do with the story, running around slaughtering people at random for no purpose whatsoever .... which is never explained. yeah ok... whatever.

lets see... then we have a famous mafia killer and brother of a major mafia figure starts a new life in a small town as the owner of a diner.

they spend a good 30 minutes (what seemed like days) setting this up.... we got it in 5 minutes. he is a great guy, honest guy, well liked, simple guy, its a small, nice town full of nice, innocent people blah blah blah blah.

he blows two people away who try to rob the place and kill a waitress (again - they are going to kill her for no apparent reason and we are supposed to believe they arr just crazy... and we are now supposed to believe i guess that they are just driving around killing every 3rd person they see and never got caught until the guy who serves the muffins takes them out)

who is this guy?

was he in the witness protection program? unfortuneatly not. that would have made sense? that would have been better than a stupid explanation like [said while crying] "i spent 3 years in the desert trying to make sure joey (his alter mafia ego) was dead".... which at this point in the film made zero sense and made him look like a complete idiot or a mad man... neither of which i could find sympathy for.... and it was not clear if he was a good guy, a bad guy or what the fuck he was supposed to be.

uhmm... ok. is he insane? schizophrenic? making it all up? just a fucking idiot? well, again they let you wonder and its never really explained what happened nor is a good reason given for the fact that he just left his former life to be a small town idiot with 2.4 kids and a house with a white picket fence.

oh... and his wife is an attorney. she couldn't be a fucking pet store owner or something. apparently she is the dumbest attorney in the mid west who fell in love with a killer whos whole life is a lie - and who had zero record of ever existing before coming into her life.

ed harris? great actor with a stupid, minor role and gets killed. i was like "what the fuck!?! only one small thing about this movie does not smell like pig shit and they just took it away"

his brother? believable as a mafia boss? give me a break. he looked and acted like a queer used car dealer.

the ending? uhm... lets see he travels to philidelphia to "end it all" - ends up killing his brother (the queer - and all his henchmen) shoots them all after they botched trying to kill him by strangling him. ...

then he walks down to the pond, washes the blood off him while sobbing like a bitch and drives 800 or so miles home again for one of the stupidest scenes i have ever seen wasted on film in my life... he walks into the house with the wife, his son and little daughter now knowing he is a cold blooded murderer who has now killed more than a few people and everyone sits there at the dinner table as the little girl quietly gets up and gets him a plate and silverware so he can eat with them. (uhm... yeah... a murderer just dissapeared for about 4 days the same day you confirm he is a murderer, then shows up one night for some meatloaf with your kids)

no one says a word and the credits start rolling.

the ending made me almost punch the guy sitting in front of me in the back of the fucking head.

good movie?

you guys need to get out more.
Yep, that just about sums it up... you made some good points, I still liked up. People in the theatre were laughting at certain violent parts. When the movie was over, there were some moans like that's all, lol. I thought it was good in a bad kinda way.
