Dumping in the desert is harsh no doubt, and I wouldn't support such a thing, but people have to learn to deal with reality. If and when these people do make it to a new country it is a well known fact that the vast majority of them (on a much greater % than the rest of the population) never become productive citizens. It is unfair to suggest that the West must accomodate all these millions of people who would in turn be a huge drain on their economy. If anything, the greater emphasis should be on fixing these peoples homelands up, rather than importing them into others, because the latter will never truly help the majority of these people.

Are you an Australian Aboriginal, American or what are you?
Ok,
There is a vietnamese term, "vaik saa brii." Roughly it means "Rotating eating the forest."
Borders and walls are not a natural state of being of humanity. Like "Rotating eating the forest" we are ment to migrate from one region to another. From one area of inadequacy to areas of prosperity. Only to one day complete a full cycle and return the origionating point.
Don't you get it? Your approach of borders, fences and walls only perpetuates the hatred, racism, ignorance and keeps others in extreme poverty. And in some extreme cases it results in wars or as 9/11 showed us; TERRORISM.
I'm not preaching Love, Understanding or any Hippie Tree hugger crap.
What I am saying is;
It's just common sense because all your conversations and points are based on stupid politicians shaking a Xenophob-stick in order to get more votes. Think for yourself, even if for just one time!
I don't care if you tell me I should shut up because I'm Canadien or that I'm on a high horse of morality.
There is just no justification for expelling people for the crime of wanting to
1. Live indoors
2. Eat at least one good meal a day
3. Not have a gun pointed at their heads
If a man has 5 extra loafs of bread and doesn't give one to a starving child when he asks. Then that man has got to be the worst fucking piece of shit that ever walked the face of the earth.
I'm sure this thread will die and in the end it will mean nothing to most. But as the old saying goes, "For evil to triumph all that is required is good people to say nothing."
