Well check this out, I am about to shoot so many holes in your little theory here, check this out:
When Katrina hit, a guy that owns the Woodmen of the World here where I live? I am not sure of his financial status, but he gathered up a bus, a gas truck and a few people and drove down there and picked up 118 people, (I think that's the right number), and drove them back up here, put them up at his camp and started putting the word out that they were here and needed help. Guess who did and DOES the most helping for these people? The poor and middle class section of the community. They are going thru their things to bring things to these families that they can use. They are in WalMart, AS EMPLOYEES, taking up money in the store to help get them things they need, I seen MANY poor people walking up and handing them a few bucks they had in their pockets, and NOT ONE upper class person did this, not one! Not while I was in the vacinity anyway.
And check THIS OUT, we have the KKK right down the road from me, in the next county a couple of miles away, and they are middle upper class, and you know what THEY are doing? THEY are beating the hell out of anyone that is helping these victims. We seen one COLLEGE BOY'S Car, who had been giving a lot of his time in helping them. His car was broken down on the side of the road, so obviously not a RICH kid, huh? Or it wouldn't have been sitting on the side of the road, his rich daddy or AAA would have come to the rescue real fast, right? Well guess what? The RICH community (KKK) beat the hell out of that poor kids car and broke every spec of glass in it, punctured all the tires on it and god only knows what else.
The county that borders the one I live in, they aren't all rich or even upper class, but they are ALL racists for the most part, you won't see many that aren't, not the ones that were raised there anyway. I KNOW htis because I lived there myself for a few years, and I moved when my SECOND grade son came home and asked me why he had to hate people with brown skin, and he was told this by two of his rich friends, who's parents were also teachers and well-to-dos in the community. Within 6 months of his being told this, we moved and got back into the county I am in now where they go to school together. In that county, there was NOT ONE black at my kids schools, they weren't allowed there.
This is going on there still today, as we speak there is a gathering of the KKK coming up this weekend and you know what? No one cares, not one soul in that community cares and in fact, majority of them support this behavior and the ones that don't are too damn scared to say anything.
So PLEASE, don't tell me how the rich or more well off aren't racists, they are, and don't tell me the poor are racists, because the majority of the ones I live around aren't and are some of the kindest and most giving people you will ever want to meet.
It's different with each individual you come across, regardless ofd their status, each person is different and has different beliefs.... one of the things that drive me crazy is categorizing people, that shit makes me crazy. ALL of anything isn't the problem, it is individuals and groups, in EVERY race!
