Jails are meant to REHABILITATE. No humane person thinks they're meant to PUNISH anyone nowadays.

I agree with what was said though about the more serious crimes giving up their rights, whereas the less serious ones should still have the right to vote. The government that's elected will have an impact on those that re-enter society as free citizens, so they should have a say in the matter.
