If you're on a budget go with a DLP especially since space doesn't seem to be a consideration in your case. Some of the low-end plasmas will give you no better picture than a DLP anyway. Samsung makes a great DLP product.
If you're talking about a high-end plasma vs a DLP it's a totally different story! I own a
61 inch Marantz Plasma and a
50 inch Samsung DLP The picture quality on the Marantz Plasma blows away the the 50 inch Samsung DLP.
