I believe that was when he first worked with Ronnie Corbett. There was a sketch with Cleese (the tallest) dressed as a City worker standing next to a less smartly dressed Ronnie Barker and the shortest of the three, Ronnie Corbett is dressed in a flat cap and overalls.
Cleese looks down his nose at Barker and says something like "I am upper class and feel to superior to both of them". Barker looks up at Cleese and says "I am middle class. I feel inferior to him" and then turning to Corbett "and superior to him". Corbett who has had his head turned up and to the right all this time says "I have a pain in my neck."
It was a very funny sketch. I don't remember all of it, but another exchange was along the lines of:
John Cleese: "I never bring any work home, my estate manager does all that."
Ronny Barker: "I bring back home heaps of work which keeps me up all night."
Ronny Corbett: "I sometimes bring home some of my work, and my rhubarb is coming on a treat!"
