A friend of mine is a doctor. He spent twenty years as a Navy Corpman, with sixteen of those years as a Corpman for the Marines. When he retired he went to med school.
He is a major character as a human, and certainly there is no other doctor like him. If you casually met the guy in a bar, which he spends most of his off time in, there is not anyway you would suspect that he is a doctor.
