Supreme Court Nominee Harriet Miers supported by right wing group

The American Center for Law & Justice supports Harriet Miers.

I was looking around their site and found their positions on "issues" to be a little off the wall.

On Land Use & Zoning:

Churches across the nation are increasingly facing discrimination from local zoning authorities with respect to location or improvement of their facilities. Zoning Boards often want to eliminate churches from downtown and commercial areas because churches do not generate retail and tax revenue. They also attempt to restrict churches in residential areas for allegedly creating traffic and noise problems. The result has been that our nation's houses of faith have their freedom to worship where and how they choose violated by ignorant or hostile zoning officials.

On pornography:

Individual communities have the right to regulate pornography and even prohibit it altogether. Many cities have ordinances dealing with pornography that restrict what is sold, where it is sold, and who is able to buy it. By exercising their First Amendment freedom of speech and assembly, individuals can target merchants selling sexually explicit materials and thereby eliminate pornography from a community. Distribution of literature, peaceful protest and picketing are proven techniques for removing pornography.

What do you think they would do if there was a church of pornography?

But, Harriet Miers might not be bad after all --

"Public Advocate President Eugene Delgaudio has issued the following statement following the appointment of Harriet Miers to serve on the Supreme Court."

"The President's nomination of Miers is a betrayal of the conservative, pro-family voters whose support put Bush in the White House in both the 2000 and 2004 elections and who were promised Supreme Court appointments in the mold of Thomas and Scalia. Instead we were given 'stealth nominees,' who have never ruled on controversial issues, more in the mold of the disastrous choice of David Souter by this President's father."
