I was hearing the term "blog" thrown around almost a decade ago so I guess you could say it's already stuck around. If the mainstream media has caught on to a term (I think they started blabbing about this "new" concept called blogs a few years ago) then you know it's been around a LONG time already.

Of course, there are now script that make it easier to build blogs, but online diaries have been around in one for or another since the web was born.
