real kino flo's have a high output ballast so there's no flicker. there is flicker with the homemade version, so your shutter speed can't be too high. try 1/60th if you can. experiment and draw your own conclusions.

What asa are you using with that Johnny? I wouldn't think it would be putt'n out too much light? Cool effect though
