Been there, done that. Difficult to work because relationships are about the small things, the day to day. Seeing someone only every so often leads both parties to put on the show of everything being good, and so all those more mundane, and yet so important issues get pushed aside. And then build up till there's an elephant in the room. In Ovids' "Cures for Love" he suggest that one should start out by choosing well. In my mind that includes location.
