Not sure how it is in Canada, but we've had a chicken pox vaccine here in the States, since at least the mid-90s. If you went into most k-5 grade schools here and asked how many kids have had c.p., the numbers would be very, very low. Most kids born (here) these days will never experience it.

I had them when I was 5. My dad never got them, even though he had 3 siblings that all came down with them and even took care of me when I had them.
